BrazenIt would seem that Bravado is no more. Arguably South Africa’s best Counter Strike (CS) team ever, the team dominated the CS scene for a number of years.
However, it looks as if the team have disbanded. This after Pantheon Gaming announced that three Bravado players will be joining its new Counter-Strike: Source (CSS) team.
History
The team’s last two big showings were in December last year when they beat the girls from the US-based PMS clan in an event dubbed the Battle of the Sexes.
Bravado then also had an exhibition match against SK Gaming at Africon 08, which they lost after the first game went into overtime.
However, the team has since been quiet after going inactive at the beginning of the year. They did not play in the Telkom Do Gaming leagues and were therefore unable to qualify for the CSS rAge tournament.
Pantheon Gaming's Successive Announcements
Now Pantheon Gaming have announced that three of Bravado's players, Richard 'deviaNt' Groves, Hadlee 'Konvict' Smith and Graeme 'korupt' Blackburn, are joining its new CSS team after Pantheon Gaming released its previous CSS team yesterday.
The three former Bravado players join together with two Eternal Conflict (eC) players Jaun “kustoM” Herbst and Niel 'FoRCe' Spengler, to form the new Pantheon CSS team. EC were the runners up in the CSS Telkom Do Gaming LAN Championships held at rAge two weeks ago.
Pantheon Gaming opted not to retain its previous CSS team, saying on its website that, “the team and the organisation have become stagnant in their relationship”.
This despite the team securing multiple top three placings in a number of online events, including Battle of the Clans (BOTC) and the Do Gaming Premier Leagues; a second place at rAge 2008; as well as a number of top three finishes at smaller events like MPLD and BattleLan, according to Pantheon Gaming.
It is not yet known where the previous Pantheon CSS team made up of Charndre "trAumA" Mey, David "Skirge" Marran, Giovanni "Vamooze" Bazan, Amory "blazE" Landis, Tiaan "tiNyskapie" Opperman and Sharon "ShazzChckL" Waison will go or whether they will start their own clan.
This of course also leaves Bravado stalwarts, Andrea 'cent' Hadjipaschali and his brother, Dimitri 'detrony' Hadjipaschali, out in the cold. Furthermore, it begs the question whether Bravado even exists anymore as its website no longer seems to be up and its DotA team left in July.
Pantheon Gaming's Expansion
Bravado’s loss is Pantheon Gaming’s gain and the Multi-gaming Organisation (MGO) is expanding nicely after Entropy Gaming joined its ranks in August.
The Pantheon Gaming Call of Duty 4 (Cod4) team were unable to beat their nemesis, Brazen, at the Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) Telkom Do Gaming LAN Championships - losing to them and BFB laRd in the competition in which they were placed third.
Brazen then beat laRd to win the tournament.
With two top teams now in the MGO, it is likely to bring in the results in the future. Its DotA team may well pick up Heroes of Newerth (HoN) if the game is launched competitively in South Africa in future.
Pantheon Gaming is now also looking for more people to get involved in the MGO, calling for writers and feature writers to help the site tick over.
This has lead to Pantheon's site ticking over nicely and it will be able to cover its teams' future successes in detail.
