Pantheon Face brazeN on Sunday

The Battle of the Clans (BotC) Call of Duty 4 (CoD4) finals between brazeN and Pantheon Gaming (Previously known as Entropy Gaming) will be played on Sunday the 30th of August at 18:00.

Pantheon will need to beat brazeN twice in order to overcome their rivals. This is because the BotC competition is a double elimination tournament and brazeN beat Pantheon earlier in the competition.

The brazeN line-up will be:

- Sean “r0adrunner” Grobler (SMG)
- Michael “Bl4ck0ut” Ferguson (SMG)
- Stephen “Vitrolic” White (Assault)
- Steyn “Vindicator” Grobler (Assault)
- Max “fAiTH” Mclaughlin (Scope)

The Pantheon line-up will be:

- David “Numb” Guimaraes (SMG / Assault)
- Hayden “Pooks” Huntington (SMG)
- Kevin “Privacy” Woodland (Assault)
- Gary “Craolia” Noble (SMG / Assault)
- Chris “Evax” Noble (Scope)

Live shout casting will be on Teamspeak at 196.2.97.211:8767 and a live score bot will be in the #cod4rank channel on the Shadowfire server in IRC. (resync.shadowfire.org)
Mibbit can also be used by clicking the Shadowfire network!

Do Gaming caught up with brazeN Captain Stephen “Vitrolic” White to hear his thoughts on the upcoming game and more.
Do Gaming: “How has the Do Gaming League competition been?”

Stephen White:The third leg of the Do Gaming League has been a pleasure to participate in. The competition has been fierce and I am very proud of my team's hard work, which has earned us our strong results. The League is obviously ending this week so I would just like to say a big thank you to the Tournament Admins who obviously make it all possible.

DG: BrazeN will probably take first seed for rAge. Are you confident of a win there?

SW:I would not say that I am confident of a victory at rAge, however the rest of my team is. That's just because I normally take a pessimistic approach. We are obviously intending to win the tournament, but playing at LAN is always a big change so we will have to see how things work out for us. Above all, I am hoping for a fair, well-run tournament.

DG: “How would you compare this leg in the Do Gaming to the last leg?”

SW:” Well in Leg 2 we were able to sneak a win on points difference against Pantheon, so it really felt like we were fortunate to win that league. This time around things have been a little different. Since we are unbeaten at this stage I think we have definitely been more consistent in our preparation and performance.

DG: How are you feeling about your BotC Grand Final on Sunday knowing that Pantheon Gaming has to beat you twice?

SW: In all honesty, apprehensive. Pantheon is always a force to be reckoned with and I am definitely not writing them off the books. It should be a great game.

DG: How has CoD4 changed this year?

SW: I would say that CoD4 has in some ways changed drastically and in others, almost not at all. One thing I am a little disappointed about is that it seems to always be the same two dominant teams in the finals and I really thought that this would change in the current BotC Tournament, but obviously this was not to be. In the same breath, I would be really surprised if we saw another Brazen/Pantheon Final at rAge.

Do Gaming also had a chance to catch up with Chris “Evax” Noble, Captain of Pantheon Gaming’s CoD4 team to hear his take on the upcoming events.

DG:Catching brazeN in the Do Gaming League is out of your hands at the moment. How are you preparing for your BOTC final on Sunday?

Chris Noble: Well, we aren’t going to have the most ideal preparation, with David 'Numb' Guimaraes writing exams most days this week and unable to practice. The rest of us have been practicing with Francois ‘Lucidity’ van Wyk subbing for us, so we are still practicing hard and we want to make sure we are prepared well for our game on Sunday.

DG:Your next game in the Do Gaming League is against A*P. Are you looking to take a strong approach to it to secure a definite second place?

CN:” Yeah, well as I said, we have been playing without Guimaraes this week, and citystreets[map] is not our strongest map. We still expect to win the game, but we also have a tough game against UbS Saints on Thursday on backlot [map].

DG: rAge is soon upon us, obviously all teams are making preparations for it. How do you think Pantheon will fare at rAge?

CN:”We will be going to Rage to win, anything less will be a disappointment. We went there last year with the expectation of winning and ended third after a disappointing performance against Borg. It would be great to win the major LAN event of the year.

BrazeN and Pantheon Gaming are both looking to win rAge. It will be an interesting competition as anything could happen in the competition with lower placed teams like A*P Revolution, BFB Lard, UbS Saints and Mint Gaming all in with a chance.
