Incredible Connection Launches Gaming Inc

Incredible Connection today launched Gaming Inc, which will be the umbrella for all the company’s gaming activities into the future.

As many gamers are aware, Incredible Connection employed a gamer, Trevor “qu1k_shot” Henry to assist in developing the company’s strategy around gaming.

Under Henry’s guidance, his Call of Duty 4 team reached the finals of the Telkom Do Gaming LAN Championships last year where they narrowly lost to Brazen (now Bravado).

Henry has been hard at work on Gaming Inc for a number of months now, creating what he hopes will eventually become something that every gamer in South Africa wants to be involved in.

“The idea for Gaming Inc is to create a platform where gamers can interact, get the latest gaming news, buy the games they want, play in competitions, win great prizes and so on,” he says.

The Gaming Inc website will have a forum where gamers can interact, talk about the games they are playing, the hardware they would like to get and so on.

“Gamers will also be able to pre-order games as well. For now the pre-orders we have are found on the Incredible Connection site. But in future there’ll be a lot more information about the games on pre-order on Gaming Inc,” he says.

Furthermore, Gaming Inc will be in Incredible Connection stores, with pre-order shelves already available in the following stores

  • Gateway (Durban)
  • East Rand Retail park (Benoni)
  • Alberton
  • The Glen (Glenvista)
  • Sandton City (Sandton)
  • Canal Walk (Cape Town)
  • Pietermaritzburg
  • Menlyn (Pretoria)
  • Eastgate (Bedfordview)
However, pre-orders can be processed at any Incredible Connection store.

Gamers who become members of Gamers Inc will receive a Gaming Inc card enabling them to purchase games on pre-order, receive discounts on certain items, and so on.

One of the Gaming Inc cards. Gamers will be able to choose from four cards each with a different theme. This one is Borderlands.

To kick this off, Gaming Inc is offering 100 Seagate 1TB Drives available for purchase at R759.95 to the first Gaming Inc members who place their orders.

Gaming Inc will also in future be looking to get involved in running online tournaments like the Incredible Cup.

“The Gaming Inc site gamers visit now is only the beginning. But now that we’ve launched the site, there will be a lot more content going onto the site and Gaming Inc’s rollout will begin in earnest. So gamers should keep checking in on a regular basis for the latest updates,” he says.

Henry says Gaming Inc will be watching the comments both on this story and on the Gaming Inc site’s forums to see what gamers think of the site. Feedback is encouraged as Gaming Inc looks to evolve over the next few months based on gamers’ requests.

So comment away!

The site is live, it has been a long and bumpy road but at least it is up. I would like to ask any and all gamers to comment, what do you think of the look, the feel, the offer. Give us some honest and open feed back so we can make sure this is EXACTLY what the gamers want!

*Edit, the four cards on offer are just for a start, we plan to have many more cards for you to choose from in the coming weeks and months

I noticed the pre-order shelf at the Menlyn branch. To have it delivered when IC gets stock, do you have to order online (instead of @ the shop), or did I read wrong?

No you can in fact order for the game in the store itself. You are required to pay a R50 deposit to secure your copy, the store then captures all your details and I personally get back to you closer to release date!

You can also Pre-Order Online, and the game will be couriered to you on release day.

Wow, R50 for personal contact with TREVORQUICKSHOTHENRY. Sounds like an awesome deal even without the games.

And I see the 1TB HDD is only available on pre-order too. When can we expect those to arrive if we place the order now?

Hey Scope,

I did leave out the fact that you can purchase the product, after the purchase has been completed it will be shipped as soon as we finalize the sale!

Although the site says Pre-Order it is a full purchase. We had to do a small work around our back end, and the only way to get things working was to use our Pre-Order system.

If you want your drive order it there you will get your drive!

no offence, but why use a name that is synonym with the birth of south african gaming ? haven't they ever heard of G.I. ?

but then again GI has been off the scene for a while now. Guess they're all 30/40yo + now.

FACT: Seagate 1 TB break. Google "seagate 1 TB failure", so best not to buy those. And if you do make sure its not the ST31000340AS THAILAND MANUFACTURED one

Jeeva, that EXACT model number? According to IC website it's ST31000528AS. I dunno, everyone I know with seagate drives say they've been fine for many years. It would help, though, to know that there's some sort of guarantee.

With all Seagate Hard Drives there is a 3 year Warranty. If you have any problems what so ever you know you can get them changed with Incredible Connection!

I might also add I have more than a few years experience with Seagate drives and have never had a single one fail on me.

I have modified the sign up process somewhat, your address is still required as we plan to send all the gamers a small welcome pack with a few small goodies and tid bits inside

But if you don't have a landline or know your ID number, it is no longer compulsory to add that information!

And my marketing drum has to be beaten, in order for this project to work its gotta go both ways! Feedback, conversations, the works!
