On Tuesday night Bravado and Soviet clashed in an important Counter-Strike: Source (CS:S) Telkom Do Gaming league match. Both teams have new rosters, but it was Bravado’s team who came out on top, winning comfortably 16-8 on Season.
The match started off well for Soviet, after they won the first round as Terrorists. However Bravado’s strong use of their Desert Eagles (Deagles) stole the second round from Soviet. From that point on Bravado had full control of the game by only allowing Soviet to win another round late in the first half.
Bravado continued their strong performance in the second half by winning the first three rounds. Soviet then began arguing with each other about the reasons they were losing, which only made it harder for the team to stay motivated. Before they knew it, the match was over and Bravado had claimed victory.
Do Gaming tried contacting both captains, however by the time of publication we were only able to contact Soviet's leader, Craig Hulley.
Telkom Do Gaming (DG): You recently played your league match against Bravado. How did it go and why do you feel your team lost the match?
Seeing as it was Bravado's second time playing the map, we had a shot at winning it as we have played this map quite a few times before and have a good understanding of it. We lost due to technical errors, lost save rounds and generally didn't frag well.
DG: Your team began complaining about communication in the second half. How do you plan on fixing any communication gaps in the future?
Well tension is always high when you lose rounds you know you shouldn't. The team is also relatively new and we are still working out the kinks. Another problem is we haven't played as much as we should have, and we haven’t had time to get to know each other's gameplay and correct the basics.
DG: MPLD is this weekend, how well do you expect your team will do?
It’s hard to say. I’m hoping for the best and hopefully we can do well as it's a whole different game playing on LAN compared to sitting in your room playing online - so hopefully with the experience we have from lanning we'll stand out a bit more than other teams.
