The Battlefield Bad Company 2 (BFBC2) Telkom Do Gaming Online League 2010 will likely open in the next ten days or so depending on how the consultation with the community goes in terms of game formats.
Ben Greenwood, Do Gaming tournament director, says there has been a lot of discussion on the Do Gaming forum as well as on SAIX Gaming Service (SGS) [login required].
“Once the community has settled on the format, we’ll open registrations. This will probably be within the next 10 days or so, depending on what is decided and how quickly a consensus is reached,” he says. “Gamers are encouraged to give their input.”
Furthermore, Greenwood says the community is being given time to actually play the game as it has just been released.
Do Gaming requests additional capacity
Telkom Do Gaming has requested more server slots for DICE to boost local capacity and will make an announcement when we receive word on this.
The team has also worked together with the SGS team and have stabilised the servers, which are being hosted at SAIX and the servers themselves are now running smoothly.
However, due to the overwhelming popularity of the game, the developers DICE have been making a number of changes on their side, which can be seen on their Twitter feed. The feed also points to the EA BFBC2 Blog where maintenance notices are posted. BFBC2 players are encouraged to keep an eye on both Twitter and the blog for updates.
The challenges being faced in multiplayer gameplay are on DICE’s radar and these will hopefully be resolved as soon as possible.
