There are many times in which girl gamers get looked over when it comes to League of Legends (LoL). Although a joke, many guys think that females are good for only one job, Support. This is most definitely not the case and MaDAlice On Acid is here to prove it.
MaDAlice On Acid is an all-girl LoL team which will start taking part in the Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) as of the 2015 Season. They are confident in their ability to make the guys swallow their jibes as they hope to reach the ultimate end goal of Premier Division status.
Owner of MaD Hatters, and also a female LoL player of substantial skill, Anneke 'MaD Zania' Le Roux was kind enough to give us some information regarding this new LoL team.
Telkom Do Gaming (DG): Are the girls ranked?
Le Roux:“Most of them are in Bronze and Silver and even unranked, but they have a lot of potential when it comes to game play and knowledge of the game.”
DG: How long have they been playing together?
Le Roux:“We created the team at the end of May and finalised it by 3 June, so more or less three weeks”
DG: How do you think they will handle the stress that comes with DGL and have they played in the DGL before?
Le Roux:“I feel confident that they will be just fine with the DGL pressure. We are preparing them and coaching them at the moment while our teams in the clan are participating in the DGL, just to show them how things are done and let them get the feel of it. Some of them have participated before.”

DG: What is their drive force coming into the DGL?
Le Roux:“You know it’s very funny what drives them . We all feel like the guys are like ‘oh you are a girl, you must like support’ which is complete nonsense! They want to show them how they play. They want to show them that girls can play more than just the support role.”
DG: Any further comments?
Le Roux:“We are all very excited, we train with them every day for a minimum of one hour. They are also really excited to start participating, if they could, I would enter them today to let them participate. Since we created the team, we realised that there are actually quite a number of female LoL players in South Africa and 99 percent of them wanted an all-female team for a very long time. Who knows, maybe we will have two female teams before DGL 2015.”
Keep an eye on these girls, with top-tier teams helping them, it will be no time at all before they rise up and grab all the glory. If you are interested in seeing any of the other teams in MaD Hatters, you can go over to their YouTube Channel that has some rather interesting content.
