Sunday night saw a big game in the Dota 2 Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) where Team Immersion Bashers was able to take down Bravado Gaming 2 – 0 in the series.
Bashers started off the first game on the Dire side with a clever tri-lane of Lifestealer, Leshrac and Sven who were able to dominate the lane to keep Bravado’s Batrider down. This gave them an early lead. As the first game went on it seemed that Bravado lacked the damage in order to take Bashers down so they had to avoid team fights, but kept getting caught out.
The advantage that Bashers had was evident as the Lifestealer grabbed a Heart of Tarrasque in under 20 minutes. The team also hardly ever took chances but kept cool, calm and collected in steering things towards a win.
We spoke to Ben ‘Noxville’ Steenhuisen, the shoutcaster for the games last night, and he says that Bravado Gaming struggled in terms of position for both games.
“The first game saw Bravado drop two early towers and try play passively in order to allow their Faceless Void to farm. But it just didn’t pay off for them. In the second game, Bvd had some bad positioning in their team fights. It was unfortunate for them because they had the right heroes to stop Bashers but just couldn’t pull it off,” he says .
This rings true in the second game because you can see that the powerhouse heroes in both teams had some comparable items but Bravado weren’t able to execute as well as they needed to .
Steenhuisen told Telkom Do Gaming that Bravado’s aggressive tri-lane failed to make a lot of kills and the team transitioned into a mid-game scenario with the Nature’s Prophet pushing and the rest of the team pushing or defending. After the Phantom Lancer for Bashers farmed quickly and managed to get Diffusal Blade and Heart of Tarrasque up, Bashers won a big team fight due to some outstanding play and were able to push home the advantage.

After this weekend’s results, Team Immersion joins kknP and Energy eSports at the top of the table with four points each.
